Love It or Hate It? Rose Leslie’s Green Jumpsuit at the ‘Game of Thrones’ Exhibit

Or: ‘Green Jumpsuits and Rose,’ written in the style of Dr. Seuss.

I quite like Rose Leslie. As maid-turned-secretary Gwen Dawson, she was one of my favorite characters in the first season of Downton Abbey; and when I heard she’d been cast as Ygritte for the second season of Game of Thrones, I couldn’t think of anyone better to play the part. But this? I do not like green jumpsuits, man. I do not like them, Sam I Am.

I do not like them in the snow. I do not like them with a bow.

I do not like them in New York. I do not like them hard at work.

I do not like them on a carpet—not even red, if there you park it.

I do not like them on the Wall. I do not like them, not at all.

Okay, so maybe I’m no Dr. Seuss, but seriously, though—no matter how hard I try, I just can’t get behind the jumpsuit trend, not even when it’s being worn by Rose. The actress sported this one to the New York opening of the Game of Thrones exhibition currently touring the country. Featuring props, costumes, weapons, heads on spikes, and more, the exhibit takes audiences up close and personal with the hit HBO show; you can even get a shot of yourself seated on a replica of the Iron Throne. Just, y’know, in case you’ve ever wanted to rule Westeros and the Seven Kingdoms.

But back to the jumpsuit: To be fair, the color of this one is lovely and it looks terrific against her ivory skin and red hair; but the pant legs are far too long (if they’re long enough for you to trip over, they’re too long), and something about the whole trend just doesn’t do it for me. Not only do they seem impractical (who wants to have to practically strip down in order to use the restroom?), but perhaps even more importantly, they seem like the kind of clothing article that no one over the age of six should wear.

Maybe that’s just me, though. If you’re totally in love with the look and want to recreate it yourself, this green silk number from Rachel Roy should do the trick!

Tell us: What do you think, Bettys? Do you love this look or hate it? Also, who else is ridonculously excited for Game of Thrones’ third season premiere this Sunday?
